Use this form for ordinary periodic termination or lease-end nonrenewal. Use a separate notice for any protected early-termination procedure.

New Jersey Timing Gate

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs states that a month-to-month tenant must give written notice at least one full month before moving. A tenant with a written lease must give notice in accordance with the lease; many yearly leases require 60 to 90 days. Do not assume a fixed term alone eliminates a contractual nonrenewal deadline.
