Florida Tenant Notice of Intent to Vacate
Florida Tenant Notice of Intent to Vacate
Use this form for ordinary termination of a tenancy without a specific term or nonrenewal at the end of a specific term. Use a separate ground-specific notice for protected early termination.
Florida Timing and Lease Gate
Fla. Stat. § 83.57 requires written notice before the end of the applicable rental period: at least 60 days for year-to-year, 30 days for quarter-to-quarter, 30 days for month-to-month, and 7 days for week-to-week tenancies. Delivery must use the manner provided in § 83.56(4), including any valid electronic-delivery arrangement under § 83.505.
For a rental agreement with a specific duration, § 83.575 permits a lease provision requiring notice before vacating at term end only if it also imposes the corresponding landlord nonrenewal duty; the required period may not be less than 30 or more than 60 days. Review the landlord's statutory reminder notice before accepting any claimed liquidated-damages charge for failure to notify.

About This Template
Landlord-tenant paperwork governs who can stay in a property, on what terms, and what happens when something goes wrong. Leases, notices to quit, security deposit demands, and habitability complaints all have state and often city-specific requirements for timing, content, and service. Getting the paperwork right is what makes an eviction actually succeed or a security deposit actually come back, because judges regularly dismiss cases over small procedural mistakes.
