When an inmate in Bureau of Prisons custody requests criminal case documents or transcripts from the court, the material goes directly to the facility warden.

“It is hereby ordered that when an inmate who is in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons Requests, either directly or through another, for any docket sheet, document, or transcripts of a criminal case from the Court or a court reporter, the requested documents shall be sent directly and only to the Warden of the facility where the inmate is housed;”

Sealed documents remain filed in CM/ECF but cannot be viewed electronically.

“Sealed documents will be filed in CM/ECF in accordance with the Sealed Document Security Program but will no longer be accessible or viewable by electronic means.”

Serve sealed documents by an appropriate method other than CM/ECF.

“Parties will have to serve sealed documents by other appropriate means as provided by the Federal Rules of Procedure.”

“A party may request that a document that is highly sensitive, be designated as an HSD by filing a motion with the court requesting a hearing without revealing the nature of the document or attaching the proposed HSD.”

“A party filing an HSD shall not submit the document in CM/ECF.”
