7. MINNESOTA-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
7.1 Written Employment Notice (Minn. Stat. § 181.032)
This offer letter serves as the required written notice under Minn. Stat. § 181.032, which mandates that employers provide employees in writing, at the start of employment: rate of pay, allowances (tips, meals, lodging, etc.), pay period, employment status, a list of deductions, and paid leave available. Any changes to these terms must be communicated in writing before they take effect.
7.2 Wage Disclosure Protection (Minn. Stat. § 181.172)
You have the right to disclose, discuss, or inquire about your wages or the wages of other employees. The Company will not retaliate against you for exercising these rights. If the Company provides an employee handbook, it will include notice of wage disclosure rights.
7.3 Earned Sick and Safe Time (Minn. Stat. § 181.9413)
You will accrue earned sick and safe time at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. ESST may be used for your own illness, a family member's illness, domestic abuse or sexual assault safety, closure of your workplace or child's school due to weather or public emergency, and other qualifying purposes.
7.4 Workers' Compensation
The Company maintains workers' compensation coverage as required by Minn. Stat. § 176.181. You are covered from your first day of employment.
7.5 Anti-Discrimination Protections
The Company complies with the Minnesota Human Rights Act (Minn. Stat. § 363A.08), which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, familial status, disability, public assistance status, age, and local human rights commission activity.

10. MINNESOTA STATE NOTES
- At-Will Doctrine: Minnesota follows at-will employment with exceptions for implied contract, promissory estoppel, and public policy. See Pine River State Bank v. Mettille.
- Written Notice Required: Minn. Stat. § 181.032 mandates written employment terms at hire and before any changes.
- Pay Transparency: Minn. Stat. § 181.173 requires salary ranges and benefits in job postings for employers with 30+ employees.
- Wage Disclosure Protection: Minn. Stat. § 181.172 protects employees who discuss wages.
