The Georgia Commission on Equal Opportunity states that the Georgia Fair Housing Law prohibits housing discrimination based on disability and is substantially equivalent to the federal Fair Housing Act. Georgia's official sources reviewed for this packet do not supply a separate animal-specific documentation formula. HUD withdrew its 2013 and 2020 animal guidance in September 2025. Its May 22, 2026 enforcement memorandum generally limits FHEO reasonable-cause findings to trained animals; it does not amend 42 U.S.C. § 3604 or Georgia law.
