What this survey covers

This survey compares the records a nonprofit member can inspect or copy, how a member asks, when a purpose showing applies, and what a court may order after a refusal. A corporation's duty to keep a record does not by itself answer who may inspect it.

Why the columns stay separate

Florida § 617.1602 separates routine records from board and accounting records, the member record, and other books. Texas § 22.351 states a single written, purpose-linked inspection route. Virginia § 13.1-933 adds a membership-duration condition to its second tier. Wyoming § 17-19-1602 allows religious-corporation governing documents to limit or abolish this member right. The separate columns show those access conditions alongside timing, cost, and judicial remedy.
