Filing
For immigration detention habeas petitions, the clerk electronically serves the petition and response orders on federal respondents.
“the Clerk of Court will electronically serve a copy of the petition 2 and any order to answer, show cause, or otherwise respond to the petition, and any pending motions on all federal respondents through the CM/ECF filing system.”
Sealing
Serve sealed documents by a method other than CM/ECF because electronic access is disabled.
“Because sealed documents filed in CM/ECF are no longer accessible or viewable electronically, service of those documents can no longer be accomplished through CM/ECF. Parties must serve sealed documents by other appropriate means and as provided by the Federal Rules of Procedure.”
