Highly sensitive documents must be filed and served in paper form or on a secure electronic device and kept outside networked systems.

“HSDs will be filed and served in paper form (or, if digital media, on a secure electronic device, such as a flash drive), in accordance with this Order and the HSD Guidance, and will be maintained by the clerk’s office in a secure paper filing system or secure standalone computer system that is not connected to any network.”

Filing

Business organization parties must identify members, shareholders, partners, and leaders whose identities may bear on recusal.

“It is therefore hereby ORDERED that in all cases, business organization parties (including corporations, LLCs, and partnerships) must identify any members, shareholders, partners, or individuals in leadership positions whose identities may reasonably bear on the Court’s decision whether to recuse, on motion or sua sponte.”

Filing

Visitors to either NYWD courthouse will be asked for identification during entrance screening.

“Visitors to either the courthouse at the Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building in Rochester, New York, or the Robert H. Jackson Courthouse in Buffalo, New York, will be asked for identification during the screening process with the court security officers at the public entrances to the courthouses.”

In an unconsented Social Security appeal, the chief judge may refer case management and recommendation work to a magistrate judge.

“in any Social Security appeal pending in this District where the parties have not consented to Magistrate Judge jurisdiction, the Chief Judge of the Court may refer the matter to a U.S. Magistrate Judge for all case management and scheduling proceedings, including the preparation of a Report and Recommendation, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(b);”
