IMPORTANT FILING NOTES
- Electronic Filing. Most Texas civil filings must be made through the eFileTexas.gov system. When filed electronically, the e-filing portal will capture many data points directly; nonetheless, attaching this CCIS remains prudent unless the specific clerk’s office has formally waived the requirement.
- Confidential Information. Do not include sensitive data (e.g., SSNs, driver-license numbers, bank accounts) on this sheet. Redact such data from all filed documents pursuant to Tex. R. Civ. P. 21c.
- Updates. Periodically confirm that no statewide or county-level amendments to Tex. R. Civ. P. 78a or fee schedules have taken effect since the date on which this template was last reviewed.
About This Template
These are the filings that drive a lawsuit through the system: complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and post-judgment papers. Each has its own format requirements under federal and state procedural rules, and each has a deadline that cannot be missed without consequences. Clean, procedurally correct filings move a case forward; sloppy ones invite motions to strike, amended responses, and avoidable delays.
Important Notice
This template is provided for informational purposes. It is not legal advice. We recommend having an attorney review any legal document before signing, especially for high-value or complex matters.
