Filing

Submit every proposed order in Word format through CM/ECF in addition to the required PDF.

Filing

Submit digital media, including audio and video exhibits, through CM/ECF; registered attorneys may not use physical storage devices.

“Attorneys must now submit all digital media (e.g., audio or video exhibits) via CM/ECF. This replaces the previous process, under which such media were delivered to the Court or Clerk’s Office on a disc or flash drive. The Court will no longer accept physical storage devices from registered attorneys.”

Discovery

In criminal cases, government and defense counsel must confer about discovery and trial preparation within 14 days after arraignment.

“counsel for the government and for the defendant shall, within fourteen days from the date of arraignment of the defendant, confer regarding a timetable and procedures for discovery and trial preparation.”

Sealing

Serve restricted and sealed documents by means other than CM/ECF.

“Parties will continue to serve sealed documents conventionally by other appropriate means as provided by the Federal Rules of Procedure and the Court’s Local Rules (https://www.miwd.uscourts.gov/local-rules-practice-and-procedure). Restricted access documents must be served in the same manner as sealed documents.”
