Maryland Notice and Delivery Module
Maryland requires written notice before a residential rent increase. For a tenancy longer than one month, give at least 90 days; for a tenancy longer than one week but not longer than one month, give at least 60 days; and for a tenancy of one week or less, give at least 7 days if there is a written lease or 21 days if there is no written lease. Send the notice by first-class mail with a certificate of mailing, or by a tenant-elected electronic method that provides proof of transmission. Section 8-209 preserves stricter local protections.

About This Template
Landlord-tenant paperwork governs who can stay in a property, on what terms, and what happens when something goes wrong. Leases, notices to quit, security deposit demands, and habitability complaints all have state and often city-specific requirements for timing, content, and service. Getting the paperwork right is what makes an eviction actually succeed or a security deposit actually come back, because judges regularly dismiss cases over small procedural mistakes.
