12. INTEGRATION AND SEVERABILITY

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Parties. It supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, and agreements. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. This Agreement shall be incorporated into and made part of the Final Decree of Divorce.

14. ALABAMA JURISDICTIONAL NOTES

• Residency: At least one spouse must have been a bona fide resident of Alabama for 6 months prior to filing (Ala. Code § 30-2-5).
• Waiting Period: A minimum of 30 days must elapse between filing and entry of the final divorce decree.
• Grounds: No-fault (incompatibility of temperament, irretrievable breakdown) or fault-based including adultery, abandonment, imprisonment, addiction, mental incapacity, or violence (Ala. Code § 30-2-1).
• Property Classification: Equitable distribution; marital property divided fairly, not necessarily equally (Ala. Code § 30-2-51).
• Separate Property: Property owned before marriage or acquired by gift/inheritance generally remains separate unless commingled or regularly used for the common benefit of the marriage.
• Alimony: Rehabilitative (up to 5 years), periodic (generally not exceeding the length of marriage), or lump-sum. Periodic alimony terminates on remarriage, cohabitation, or death (Ala. Code §§ 30-2-55, 30-2-57).
