Eligibility and Practical Limits
- Labor Commissioner has jurisdiction over private-sector wage claims under NRS Chapter 608.
- NRS 608.135 bars the Labor Commissioner from taking jurisdiction of a claim that is the subject of a pending civil action — choose one forum, not both.
- Two-year statute of limitations applies for statutory wage claims (NRS 11.190(2)(d)); three years for written employment contracts (NRS 11.190(3)(b)).
