16. SOUTH CAROLINA-SPECIFIC LEGAL NOTES

SC Payment of Wages Act (§ 41-10-10 et seq.): Defines "wages" to include amounts determined on a commission basis. Applies to employers with five or more employees.

Written Notice Required (§ 41-10-30): Employers must notify employees in writing at hiring of wages agreed upon, time and place of payment, and deductions. Seven days' written notice is required for changes (except wage increases).
