GEORGIA WAGE GARNISHMENT LIMITS

Georgia applies the federal CCPA cap under O.C.G.A. § 18-4-5(b):

The maximum aggregate disposable earnings subject to garnishment for a workweek is the lesser of:

  1. 25% of the defendant's disposable earnings for that week; OR
  2. The amount by which the defendant's disposable earnings for that week exceed 30 × the federal minimum hourly wage in effect at the time the earnings are payable.

For support orders, the CCPA cap rises to 50%–65% per 15 U.S.C. § 1673(b).
