Closed School Discharge Application
CLOSED SCHOOL DISCHARGE APPLICATION
OVERVIEW
If your school closed while you were enrolled or shortly after you withdrew, you may be eligible to have your federal student loans discharged. This means you would no longer have to repay those loans.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (July 2025) delays implementation of the 2022 closed school discharge regulations until July 1, 2035. The earlier, more restrictive rules remain in effect for most borrowers.

About This Template
Financial and banking documents govern loans, security interests, account agreements, and commercial transactions between lenders, borrowers, and financial institutions. Promissory notes, guaranties, security agreements, and UCC filings have precise legal requirements, and mistakes can leave a lender unsecured or a borrower on the hook for more than they agreed to. Well-drafted finance paperwork protects both sides and keeps the deal enforceable if something goes wrong later.
