About Judge Godbold
John Cooper Godbold was a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson, Judge Godbold was commissioned to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on July 22, 1966 and reassigned to this court on October 1, 1981. Judge Godbold assumed senior status on October 23, 1987 and served until death on December 22, 2009.
